Kingsville  11     Dresden  5        February 8, 2008

This season can not end quick enough for the Dresden Jr. Kings, or their fans.  They were defeated by the Kingsville Comets, 11-5, in a long drawn out affair Friday night in a game that lasted two-hours and fifteen minutes, while featuring 140 minutes in penalties.  The game was filled with whistles, power plays, and misconducts.

Playing with a short bench, Dresden stayed even with the Comets in the first period, as both teams scored four times.  Joe Deboer, Kyle Vink, Patrick Rice, and Aaron Gibbings tallied for the Jr. Kings, while the Comets scored three power play goals.

The second period was all Kingsville.  They scored three unanswered goals, chasing Kyle Straatman from the Dresden net at the midway point of the period, as they outshot the Kings 18-3 in the middle twenty minutes.  Cam Graham replaced Straatman.

The Comets added three more goals in the third period before Kyle Vink scored his second of the game with a minute left.  Kingsville then potted a short-handed goal, giving the Comets their 11-5 win.  Kingsville fired 50 shots at the two Jr. Kings goalies, and scored six times on the power play.  Dustin Belton had a hat trick and Saundro Delbrocco scored twice for the Comets.

Kyle Vink also added an assist, as he moved ahead of linemate, Dan Hyatt, by one point for the Jr. Kings’ scoring lead.  The Tunstall Three Stars were ……. Kyle Vink, Dan Hyatt, and Patrick Rice.  The season ends for the Jr. Kings on Sunday, as they travel to Belle River to play a make-up game against the Canadiens at 6:30 p.m.
