     Dresden  2      Mooretown  1        December 29, 2007

Dan Hyatt has been playing terrific hockey for the Jr. Kings the last few weeks and Saturday night he came up big one more time.  With 2:17 left on the clock against the Mooretown Flags, Hyatt jumped on a turnover at the Flags’ blueline, and skated in alone on netminder Justin Belanger, deking right to left, before sliding the puck in the open net for a 2-1 Dresden win.  The victory put the Jr. Kings in a tie with the Flags, and the Blenheim Blades for the last two playoff spots in the North Division.

Jeremy Park opened the scoring in the first period at 5:13 on a shoot-in at the blueline, which handcuffed Belanger and fell in behind him.  Joe Deboer and Josh Shaw drew assists.  Matt Beer evened things up for Mooretown at 18:51 with a power play goal.  There was no scoring in the second period.

The score remained tied 1-1 until the heroics by Hyatt, who has now scored in seven straight games and leads the team with nine goals.  Cam Graham was solid in the nets for Dresden, turning aside 26 shots.  The Jr. Kings fired  37 shots at Belanger.  The Tunstall Three Stars were …….. Dan Hyatt, Alex McDonald, and Jason Watson.

The Kings are off until Friday night (Jan. 4) when they have a rematch against the Flags in Dresden at 7:30 p.m.  Then they travel to Alvinston for a Sunday matinee game at 2:30 p.m.
